King's Pointe Resort is Hiring a Bus Person Near Storm Lake, IA

King's Pointe offers their guests everything they need for a unique vacation: indoor and outdoor waterpark; spacious rooms and cottages; al fresco dining and fire pits; and even a mini-golf and nine-hole golf course across the street. We are searching for a diligent busser to assist and support our serving staff at our restaurant. As a busser, you will be responsible for cleaning, clearing, and setting tables, ensuring that the restaurant supplies and equipment are clean and maintained, and assisting customers with requests or complaints.

To ensure success as a busser, you should be highly organized and have a keen eye for detail. A skilled busser should be good with their hands, highly efficient, and be able to provide a great level of customer service, availability to work during the peak meal periods of the restaurant including availability on nights, weekends, and holidays. 

Busser Responsibilities:

  • Support host staff by welcoming customers, showing them to their tables and providing them with menus.
  • Assisting customers with queries, requests, and redirecting as necessary.
  • Ensuring that tables are cleared, cleaned, and reset between seatings.
  • Support service staff by serving food and refilling beverages as requested.
  • Assisting with the cleaning and processing of dirty dishes and silverware.
  • Reporting any damages, shortages, and complaints to the manager.
  • Moving tables, chairs, and furniture to accommodate customers as needed.
  • Tidying the restaurant after service and ensuring that it is prepped for the following service.
  • Performs other duties incidental to guest service as assigned by the supervisor.

Busser Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A passion for customer service and working in the restaurant industry.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal communication abilities.

Personal Appearance

The Busser must be well groomed and neatly dressed in proper apparel upon arrival for his or her shift and must strive to maintain a neat, clean appearance throughout the shift by using aprons and side towels appropriately and by frequent hand-washing. 

Physical Actions

The Busser must be capable of the following estimated percentage of physical activities for up to eight hours: 

• 5% Standing • 5% Carrying • 5% Reaching • 5% Stooping • 15% Walking • 10% Lifting • 50% Cleaning • 10% Climbing (ladder)

The Busser is required to lift and carry bags and cases of food and ingredients that may weigh up to fifty pounds, stacks of soiled plates, silverware and glassware that may weigh up to twenty-five pounds, and bags of trash and food refuse that may weigh up to thirty pounds. 

Environmental Exposure

The Busser spends most pre-business time in climate-controlled dining rooms but may work outdoors for limited periods, resulting in limited exposure to varying weather conditions. During business, equal time is spent in the front- and back-of-house, resulting in frequent exposure to heat and humidity. The Busser is required to use a variety of cleaning solutions. The Busser interacts extensively with guests and team members with possible exposure to highly stressful or frustrating situations, which must be handled pleasantly and professionally. The Busser is required to work with a moderate level of supervision.
